The International Association of Rice of the Valencian Community organizes “Un Granito por Haitíâ€(“A Grain for Haitíâ€)

As by now, everyone will know, last 12th of January an earthquake of magnitude 7.3 degrees on the Richter scale scrimmage Haiti, country which occupies a third of La Española Island. The most poor country of all America, has been sadly shaken by the most devastating earthquake in its history, causing desolation, and destruction among a population already punished by the deplorable conditions of their everyday life.
We hope that by now, all of you who has read these lines have already collaborated  through the multiple accounts opened in different banks and key organizations who are struggling to help the most disadvantaged people, but we can not stay like this, The International Association of Rice of the Valencian Community, wanted to contribute with our “little grain of rice†to all these disadvantaged people. And as every “grain of rice†makes a mountain, nothing better than doing it as best as we know: preparing our rice.

That is why next 7th of February and thanks to the collaboration, of course totally disinterested, of a number of entities in our community, we will make our contribution:
a grain for Haiti, we need, and we want to have your help.

How? It’s very easy and simple, enjoying with your friends and family of a day of coexistence and company, which will end with the preparation of large paellas which will be served to raise funds for the earthquake victims. Each dish served will need the contribution of at least 1 euro which will be donated in full, as all the infrastructure, services and products are provided selflessly by our partner companies that are involved in the event.

We would liked not to have this phrases written, nor prepare these paellas, but as  privileged people that we are, we could not stay with folded arms, we had to do something more, at least contribute…….. A grain for Haiti.

Next Sunday 7th of February will be waiting you.
